Cadres disciplined over university land scam

Five Communist Party cadres from Beijing's Tongzhou district were sacked or handed disciplinary punishments for illegally approving the sale of farmland to developers of the infamous Oriental University City in Langfang , Hebei province.

Authorities also ordered the developers to convert 36 hectares of illegally occupied land back into farmland, Xinhua reported yesterday.

Authorities call a halt to golf course developments in capital
