Taking advantage of the cool weather, I abandoned my homework and went hiking with my brother recently.We ran up a steep slope. When we arrived at the top, we saw people's homes from afar. It was a marvellous scene!

Special era dawns for Lantau

Lantau bungalow operators are hoping to cash in on the millennium as revellers flock to the 934-metre Lantau Peak to watch the new century's first sunrise in Hong Kong.

Bookings have already started for Christmas and New Year, said bungalow managers near Lantau Peak, or Fung Wong Shan.

Wizard takes Peaks honours

Wizard, an IMX 38 skippered by Cathy Delaney, held on to its lead to take line honours for the First Division A title in the Land Rover Aberdeen Boat Club Four Peaks Race yesterday.

Braving the coldest day and night of the year with rain, rough seas and treacherous hill running conditions to contend with, Wizard crossed the finish line first early yesterday morning.

Locke out to conquer Peaks

VIC Locke will have a new boat and a new crew as he attempts to add yet another TAG Heuer Four Peaks Race title to his collection over the weekend.

Locke has had several successes on Bugis over the years. But he sold the sloop nine months ago and is hoping to start a new era of success in the demanding race with his eight-strong crew on Banner 41 Intrigue.

Chinese crew set to scale heights

THE annual TAG Heuer Four Peaks race, which sets sail this morning from Shek O, will for the first time feature an all-Chinese crew.

Dr Y. K. Szeto will lead his all-Chinese crew on Tipsy Too against 20 of the top boats on the 90 nautical miles journey that also requires competitors to scale four of Hong Kong's most famous peaks.
