Lee registered his best ever finish in a top-class international event by placing 16th overall in the championships in Hamburg, Germany, on Sunday.

Daniel Lee Chi-wo's quest for a second Olympic appearance is nicely on track with just over one year to go to the Beijing Games.

Lee's most likely route to Beijing is via the New Flag system in which one male and female triathlete from each continent, not otherwise qualified and with a world ranking of one to 47, will be included in the elite line-up next August.
