British football still has aggressive face

I refer to the letter from Tim Shaw headlined, 'Look to the behaviour of Turkish club' (South China Morning Post, April 11).

Let me make it clear that this response is in no way attempting to sully the memory of the two Leeds fans who died in Istanbul, but rather, is trying to expose the gaping holes in Mr Shaw's argument.

Troublemakers were English

While I totally agree with the sentiment expressed by Sandra Wyatt that the 'display of barbaric and totally unnecessary behaviour' was enough to make anyone feel ashamed (letter, South China Morning Post, April 8), regarding fans before the Galatasaray v Leeds match in Istanbul, I object to her categorisation.

Look to the behaviour of Turkish club

I must write to reply to Sandra Wyatt's letter headlined 'So ashamed' (South China Morning Post, April 8).

I agree with her point regarding the good behaviour of the people in the South Stand at the Rugby Sevens, of which I have been part of many times myself.
