Charity concert by Israeli musician

He's not strictly world music by definition, but musician David Broza is certainly a change from the standard pop/dance hit makers who visit the city. The singer/songwriter is perhaps Israel's best known musician of the past 30 years, sometimes compared to Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen for his poetic Hebrew songs preaching peace and understanding.

Leonard Cohen: The Future (Columbia records).

IT IS ironic an album depending so much on the past should be entitled The Future.

Leonard Cohen has been described as a poet and Renaissance man but he is, above all, miserable.

This is what Cohen has been doing since his debut album, The Songs of Leonard Cohen, back in Christmas 1967.
