The death of Baroness Thatcher of Kesteven marks closure for a woman who galvanised not only her own generation, but those to come. Loathed and loved with equal passion, Thatcher herself prized one thing more than any other - the success of Britain for all its citizens.

Fans of Leslie Cheung Kwok-wing commemorate the 10th anniversary of his death at various events. Among the highlights is a 20th anniversary charity screening of Farewell My Concubine - which brought Cheung international acclaim for his portrayal of a gay opera singer - at the Sunbeam Theatre in North Point.

Affectionately known as Gor Gor, which means older brother in Cantonese, Leslie Cheung Kwok-wing shocked Chinese communities around the world with his suicide on April 1, 2003. He was only 46.

Late entertainer is still a hit with fans

Fans of the late Canto-pop star Leslie Cheung Kwok-wing proved his popularity has not waned as they gathered yesterday to remember him on the ninth anniversary of his death.

Dozens of wreaths and bouquets from fans around the world were laid outside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Central, where Cheung leapt to his death on April 1, 2003. He was 46.

Custody battle over guide dogs

A row has broken out over the custody of Hong Kong's only two guide dogs, Google and Iris.

Raymond Cheung Wai-man, the city's sole licensed instructor, resigned from the board of the Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association on Tuesday after he told Google's foster family he would take the animal for seven days' training.
