Summer warriors get a liberal dose of bullets and barracks

The 150 youngsters who took part in the People's Liberation Army summer camp in Fanling had a few nice surprises in the highly disciplined environment.

Delectable bombs

I was greatly disappointed to read that the People's Liberation Army is cutting back on its troupes ('PLA troupes to be cut from ranks of troops', September 2).

Quite rightly, the money saved is to go on all-the-better-to-kill-you-with technology.
