No change to in-flight rules on lighters, needles

Hong Kong aviation authorities plan neither to ban cigarette lighters on flights, nor allow objects such as knitting needles aboard, despite security regulations being adjusted elsewhere.

Ministry protests lighter safeguard

China has attacked as unreasonable and protectionist regulations likely to be passed by the European Union within the week on safety standards for cigarette lighters.
