Academic sentenced to community service

A Lingnan University assistant professor was ordered to perform 200 hours of community service for falsifying expense claims involving HK$56,000. Kevin Cheng Hing-cheung, 38, pleaded guilty to seven fraud-related charges for obtaining HK$29,000 and attempting to claim HK$27,000 from the university between 2007 and last year.
