The three Chinese astronauts' Hong Kong tour had largely gone as planned - until yesterday afternoon, when they were met by about 10 protesting students demanding social justice on the mainland.

Visiting astronauts given star treatment by pupils

The astronauts who performed China's first manned space docking mission were brought down to earth by Hong Kong children yesterday.

On the second day of their four-day visit to the city, Senior Colonel Jing Haipeng , Senior Colonel Liu Wang and the first Chinese woman in space, Major Liu Yang , faced a barrage of questions from young fans.

Ceremony marks return of capsule

The domestically developed spacesuit that the mission commander wore has proved its worth. The first Chinese spacewalk in history lasted about 20 minutes, but it represented a major advance in space exploration for the country.
