Plane bomb hoaxer held for seven days

A Hong Kong traveller was held by mainland police for seven days in Guangxi province for delaying a Guangzhou-bound flight for more than two hours, the China News Service said.

The Hong Kong resident, aged 31, claimed a bomb had been planted on Flight 306 as it was about to take off from the Liuzhou Bailian airport on July 25. He later admitted it was joke.

GUANGXI police have set a new record for seizures of bear paws and arrested a man involved in the trafficking of three black bears.

The seizure of 188 paws was the 'most serious kind ever recorded in China', said Xinhua (the New China News Agency).

GUANGXI police have made their biggest seizure of bear paws and arrested three traffickers.

Officers received a tip-off last month and ambushed the trio, the Hong Kong China News Agency reported yesterday.

Thirty-nine bear paws were seized from the traffickers.
