Meet the new face of our harbour - a V-shaped icon

A wave-like, V-shaped logo with colours changing from red to blue to green will adorn signs to be erected along the shores of Victoria Harbour as part of efforts to rejuvenate the harbourfront.

No readers, you are not seeing double ... it's competition

From the colours of the logo down to the little arrows on its masthead, the new Eastweek looks like nothing so much as a pirated copy of Next Magazine.

The fonts of the logo and the headlines, and the layout of the pages, are cloned to perfection. Only upon close examination can the reader notice that Eastweek uses slightly lighter shades.

A twist in the logo

SAR, mindful of the world obsession with rebranding, has asked local artists and designers to come up with new logos for old faces and places. Capturing the spirit of the fairy tale that taxpayers have been spun over the government's deal with Disney, our first contribution, created by Dickie Fowler of Siren Films, seems most appropriate - the wonderful world of Mr Tung.

Turtle power hits schools

They may not be mutant or ninja, but robot turtles are arousing students' interest in computer programming, science lecturers say.

The small robots are designed to help teach Logo programming in schools. They can be programmed to respond to Logo commands by touching keys on their backs to make them move, turn and play music.
