Cheung Kong's aggressive bid for Tsuen Wan site boosts sentiment

Aggressive bidding by Cheung Kong for a Tsuen Wan site up for tender last week has signalled a turnaround in sentiment and triggered new confidence among home sellers.

Cheung Kong won the tender for the Tsuen Wan TW5 Bayside commercial and residential site above the Tsuen Wan West MTR station with a bid of HK$9.63 billion, or HK$4,308 per square foot.

Discovery Park gets consent for pre-sale

New World Development and HKR International have received the long-awaited pre-sale consent for the first phase of their joint venture residential development Discovery Park in Tsuen Wan.

An HKR spokesman said the first batch of units would go on sale next month after the developers finalised the price and the number of units offered in the first public launch.

Woman's severed arms found in rubbish bin

Police last night began a suspected murder investigation following the discovery of a woman's severed arms in a rubbish bin at Tsuen Wan multi-storey car park.

Forensic experts took finger prints of the hands yesterday and will perform more examinations such as X-rays today in a bid to identify the owner. The prints will be matched with the missing persons list.
