Step aside, Madame Tussauds. Ron Mueck's human sculptures are as close to the real thing as they come. When I first saw Mueck's Dead Dad, at Taipei's Museum of Contemporary Art recently, I was struck by a sense of disbelief. The nude body, on a small, plain, white platform, was engrossing. The texture of the skin and hair, and its posture were so natural; it looks like a real corpse.

The tourist trap reopened earlier this month in the Peak Galleria and it is clearly milking the attention. As a news item, the real Kwok's arrival at his figure's debut is really a non-event.
