US rock supergroup Bon Jovi will waive their fee for playing a concert in recession-hit Spain next month, reports said yesterday, with special low-price tickets for Spaniards struggling in the crisis.

A Spanish policeman was on Tuesday hailed a hero after a dramatic security video captured him rescuing a woman who fell onto the tracks of the Madrid subway system moments before a train arrived.

The 38-year-old officer, who was identified only by his first name, Ruben, leapt to the woman’s rescue early on Monday afternoon at the Marques Vadillo station in southwestern Madrid.

International teams have built 19 sun-powered homes in Spain's capital for a contest that shows off futuristic designs, including one house that swivels 180 degrees.

In western Madrid's huge Casa de Campo park, the sun glints off the solar panels of a futuristic mini-village erected in 10 days by university teams from China, Japan, Brazil, Egypt and across Europe.
