Shenzhen Expressway earnings gain 16.5pc

Shenzhen Expressway sees this year as a critical year for toll revenue growth after its recent road expansion.

The toll road operator recorded a 16.5 per cent increase in net profit last year to 674 million yuan (HK$739.4 million). Revenue rose 43.4 per cent to 1.1 billion yuan.

A final dividend of 16 fen per share will be distributed.

Macquarie fund buys Hua Nan road stake

Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund (MIIF) has bought an 81 per cent stake in Guangdong-based Hua Nan Expressway for four billion yuan.

Hua Nan Expressway is a fully operational, 31km, dual-carriage urban toll road with six to eight lanes running through Guangzhou.

Fujian Expressway to spend 14b yuan on roads

Shanghai-listed Fujian Expressway Development said yesterday it would spend 14.13 billion yuan to expand its two highways to meet the surging traffic flows in Fujian province.

The company plans to double the number of lanes on its Quanxia Highway at a cost of 5.384 billion yuan while its subsidiary will widen the Fuquan Highway on expenditure of 8.746 billion yuan.

Shenzhen Expressway posts 22pc profit gain

Shenzhen Expressway, a toll-road operator in southern China, said first-half profit rose 22 per cent, helped by higher traffic flow after it extended a highway and bought another one.

Profit for the first six months rose to 267 million yuan from 218 million yuan a year ago while turnover jumped 33.6 per cent to 553 million yuan.
