Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF)

The Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) is a compulsory pension fund designed by the Hong Kong government as a major protection scheme for the aged and retired residents.  Most employees and their employers are required to contribute monthly.

SFC investigation was ‘painful’, Exco head says

Executive Council convener Bernard Charnwut Chan urged all Mandatory Provident Fund operators to improve their governance standards, warning that his own experience showed it was better to go the extra mile than draw the scrutiny of regulators.
