Chadwick banned after 'perfect race', says Cruz

Former champion jockey Tony Cruz defended his apprentice Matthew Chadwick yesterday after the star junior was suspended for his winning ride on Bullish Gold.

Stewards handed Chadwick a two-day ban, deeming his ride careless after Chadwick extricated the Cruz-trained Bullish Gold from the box-seat spot at the 300m mark through a tiny opening and Glenealy Elite was checked.
