'The combined capitalisation of the mainland market was 22.11 trillion yuan as of yesterday, 1.02 trillion yuan more than the nation's gross domestic product.

Hong Kong's market capitalisation down

Hong Kong's market capitalisation at the end of last month was $2.52 trillion, down 38.16 per cent from $4.08 trillion in May last year, according to the stock exchange's monthly statistics.

Turnover in the first five months of this year sank 31.78 per cent to $778.5 billion from $1.14 trillion in the same period last year, when the bull market was just getting under way.

Stock plunge fails to deter Plotio listing

The current stock market turmoil will not affect Plotio Holdings' proposed back-door listing, according to chairman Lai Yiu-keung.

Plotio shares will begin trade on November 3 - on schedule, he said - after its acquisition of liquidated electronics-maker Kin Son Electronic (Holdings) for about $40 million.
