In one of three court cases involving the Mei Foo development, six of the hundreds of people who could potentially block the construction have agreed to be bound by an injunction sought by Billion Star. They have also consented not to prevent Billion Star from carrying out work on the site.

29 flee after fire breaks out in restaurant kitchen

Bag snatcher makes off with $334,000

A man snatched a bag containing HK$334,000 from inside a Mercedes-Benz as a businesswoman was pulling away in Lai Chi Kok. The woman, 41, owner of a property agency, had withdrawn the money from two banks in Mei Foo Sun Chuen and picked up her car in Broadway at about 3.15pm. Police said she put the money in an envelope then in her handbag, which was placed on the front passenger seat.
