Mercedes Benz

Mercedes-Benz is part of German manufacturer Daimler AG, and the brand is used for luxury automobiles, buses, coaches, and trucks. The name first appeared in 1926 under Daimler-Benz but traces its origins to Daimler's 1901 Mercedes and to Karl Benz's 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagen, widely regarded as the first automobile.

BMW to sponsor Hong Kong Derby

The Hong Kong Derby will have a change of sponsor from Mercedes-Benz to BMW.

The Hong Kong Derby will have a change of sponsor from one German prestige car maker to another when it is run later this season.

The Jockey Club's seven-year romance with Mercedes-Benz has ended, with the announcement yesterday that BMW will put its name on the Derby for the next five years.

Stolen vehicles recovered

CUSTOMS officers recovered three stolen cars worth more than $4.5 million in an operation in Man Kam To last night. After a month of surveillance, the officers intercepted a container truck at the border control point, and a thorough search revealed three Mercedes Benz vehicles and with 20 cartons of wool. A 32-year-old driver was arrested.
