TV cartoon series to follow the travels of Ming the Minibus

Ming the Minibus, the star of a series of children's books by a Hong Kong teacher, is about to gain fame in an animated cartoon series about his travels around the world.

Australian Thomas Beckett, who teaches English, created the Ming books to help improve the English skills of pupils at Chinese schools.

In yesterday's C3 report 'Two jailed for faking expenses', defendant Thomas Tang Chi-ming was incorrectly identified as chairman of Friends of the Earth. He was chairman of Friends of the Youth.

Solicitor Peggy Liu sues over love affairs report

Solicitor Peggy Liu Pik-yun is suing publisher Ming Pao for unspecified damages for defamation. Ming Pao Weekly published a report last Saturday about Ms Liu's alleged love affairs, which she says injured her reputation.

Named as defendants in the High Court writ are proprietor Ming Pao Holdings, publisher Ming Pao Magazines and editor Lung King-cheong.
