An official website dedicated to the government's anti-corruption efforts crashed a day after its debut due to an overwhelming number of hits, state media reported yesterday.

Pilot plan lifts power to probe corruption

A pilot scheme has been launched in some ministries and in Hainan province to give corruption fighters more effective means to investigate other supervisory officials.

In January, the State Council began placing supervisory officials, who were previously answerable to individual ministries, directly under the control of the Ministry of Supervision.

Cadres told to swap jobs

SENIOR cadres in charge of supervision and discipline inspection can no longer stay in the same positions for more than 10 years, according to new personnel regulations.

Instead, they have to rotate their posts regularly, the semi-official Hong Kong China News Agency quoted the Organisation and Personnel newspaper as saying yesterday.
