Ocean Park sheds seashells

Ocean Park will withdraw seashells from its shops following criticism from conservationists.

The Marine Conservation Society has accused the theme park and aquarium of cynically promoting preservation of the sea - while at the same time exploiting it for financial gain.

Society chairman Dr Brian Darvell said visitors would be confused by the mixed message.
