Gas leak fears bring traffic to a halt in Causeway Bay

The sound of a bus tyre blowing out may have been mistaken for a minor gas explosion in an incident that brought a section of Causeway Bay to a standstill yesterday evening.

A Citybus bus was turning from Wan Chai Road onto Morrison Hill Road when the driver heard a loud bang.

Ex-soccer player's pub takings stolen

Business takings totalling $24,000 were stolen from a pub owned by former South China football player Lok Tak-fai. Officers were called to the Poco A Poco Bar in Morrison Hill Road, Wan Chai, at 8.30am when Mr Lok, 52, discovered the main gate and safe had been prised open.

Drug arrests

Police arrested a woman, 28, outside a hotel in Sa Po Road, Kowloon City, and seized four bags of suspected 'ice' weighing 3.1kg with a retail price of $1.23 million. They later arrested a man, 31, believed to be the woman's accomplice, at the junction of Sung Tak Street and Morrison Hill Road, Wan Chai.
