I refer to the letter headlined, 'Pool closure is inexcusable' (South China Morning Post, December 3).

Wan Chai Training Pool is a purpose-built outdoor heated swimming pool for organised aquatic training.

It was closed from mid-October 1996 to install an ozone sterilisation system.

Angered by lack of hot water

I recently visited the Morrison Hill Swimming Pool.

However I am very disappointed with the facilities the Urban Council is providing to regular swimmers.

When I returned to the ladies' locker room I found there was no hot water available.

I refer to the complaint from your reader concerning repairs to the boilers at Morrison Hill Swimming Pool (South China Morning Post, September 18).

Minimising inconvenience

I REFER to the letter headlined, ''Revise lunch time arrangements'' by your correspondent, Mr D. L. Hall (South China Morning Post, April 30).

This maintenance closure of the Morrison Hill Swimming Pool began on March 15 and was scheduled to continue until June 30.

Revise lunchtime arrangements

THE Urban Services Department is presumably planning its annual maintenance activities for Morrison Hill swimming pool. Lunchtime swimming there is now very popular so could we request that the following be taken into consideration: Not closing the whole pool complex for two months as usually happens in May/June.
