'Hotels' not sleazy vice dens

I AM writing in reply to the utterly prudish letter published in these columns, on August 2, headlined, 'Are love motels legal?' These motels are not vice establishments, but quite tasteful hotels which fulfil a much-needed service in a city where people rarely get enough time, or opportunity, to be alone with their partners.

Fake policemen rob 19 in motel

TWO men claiming to be policemen raided a Kowloon Tong motel yesterday and robbed 19 people of more than $52,000 in cash and valuables.

After entering the motel at 1 Rutland Quadrant, each of the men produced 60-centimetre knives and threatened four members of staff and a watchman.
