Strong result shows chips are up for NagaCorp

NagaCorp's Hong Kong shares rose 10 per cent to HK$1.86 yesterday on heavy trading, after strong interim results. The company, which owns the NagaWorld casino hotel in Cambodia, posted a 118 per cent rise in net profit to US$45.9 million in the first half. Revenue grew 65 per cent to US$111.8 million.

Two more companies - NagaCorp and Kam Kiu Aluminium Group - decided to delay their initial public offerings in the face of waning investor interest in new share sales, market sources said.

With first-half results due this month, requiring them to update their documents, it would be several months before either company would be ready to come to market, the sources added.
