Cathay Pacific and Avis have teamed up for a deal which offers upgraded rental cars in Canada. To qualify, you must fly Cathay to Canada not later than November 30 and pre-book your vehicle with Avis in Hong Kong.

Direct flights to Jakarta

CATHAY Pacific Airways will increase non-stop services to Jakarta from October 30.

The number of non-stop flights to Jakarta will increase from seven to 10 a week, with the three extra services replacing those that stop over at Singapore.

Slots to open if Lufthansa makes switch

LUFTHANSA German Airlines may switch to turnaround daylight services between Frankfurt and Hong Kong at the end of next year.

The carrier said it might be willing to sacrifice its prime-time evening departure slots from Kai Tak and revert to daylight flying for several operational reasons.
