Overseas nurses may ease shortage

Public hospitals may soon be able to recruit overseas nurses under a limited registration system because of a severe staff shortage - which has reached a stage that each nurse has to take care of an average of more than 60 patients.

Nurses in cash call to recruit more staff

NURSES have called on the Government to pay for Hospital Authority proposals to recruit and retain more nursing staff.

After a two-hour meeting with authority management yesterday, leaders of the Association of Hong Kong Nursing Staff said it was up to the Government to help put authority plans into action.
