It's Taboo: you ain't seen nothing like it

Franco Dragone, the Italian-Belgian theatre director behind Cirque du Soleil, has created an audacious show called Taboo for Macau's luxury night club.

Naughty by nature

Last Monday, at Club Cubic in Macau's City of Dreams, a group of about 200 guests attended an unveiling: the first public performance of Taboo, billed as a 'seductive entertainment extraordinaire'. Its creator, Franco Dragone - the man who brought The House of Dancing Water to City of Dreams - described it as an 'open rehearsal' in which the audience would play a vital part.

Canada's Cirque du Soleil opened its first production workshop in Hong Kong to supply costumes and props to its various shows around the world. The new regional office will help produce costumes, accessories and hats for Cirque du Soleil's shows.

In a league of his own

Damien Rice, the angry young man from Ireland, has released Live from the Union Chapel, his first official live album.

It is difficult to compare Rice to anyone else. His acoustic offerings are not the chilled-out tunes of artists like James Blunt: heart-breaking and confessional, his voice and songs sound even more urgent live than on his studio albums.
