St Barbara's Church last service

Fond farewell . . . it was a decidedly upbeat occasion for a farewell. The Reverend Neil Gardner insisted the last service at St Barbara's Church in Stanley be full of spirit and hope rather than sadness. Indeed, the opening hymn inside the Kirk of the Black Watch - Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory - was sung with loud, proud voices.
