We were in Oxford the day the Olympic flame came through last month, so my wife and I joined the crowd lining the roads to watch.

From Fanling to carrying Games' torch in London

A radio presenter born in Hong Kong will carry the Olympic torch through London in July as a representative of the young, Chinese and Filipino communities in Britain.

The half-Chinese, half-Filipino Steven Cheung, 22, is to be one of 8,000 torch-bearers to carry the flame on a 70-day journey through Britain.

Games organisers want torch relay in all districts

Organisers of the East Asian Games are planning a torch relay to tour all 18 districts of Hong Kong.

While the Olympic torch was carried through 10 districts in May, a spokeswoman for the East Asian Games Company said they wanted an event that would cover more areas.

HK runners do their bit

Irons Sze Wing-wai chanted 'Go Hong Kong! Go China!' and waved to the crowd while running with the torch on southwest Beijing's Zhonghe Road yesterday.

He clearly felt honoured to be the only torch-bearer from Hong Kong chosen by the Beijing municipal government to represent Hong Kong, Macau and overseas Chinese in the relay's final leg.
