Telecoms ministry to spin off firms

CHINA's Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications will shortly finalise plans to set up independent subsidiaries in a revamp aimed at corporatising the telecommunications industry.

The move comes amid increasing pressure from local and overseas operators to further liberalise the country's potentially lucrative telecommunications market.
