Don't bother with 3-D version

The 3D craze is a powerful one: Clash of the Titans was filmed in 2D, but its creators converted it to 3D, probably after noticing the success of Avatar. And that may be the reason why its 3D effects aren't apparent at all. Ironically, the most solid-looking things on the screen are the subtitles.

Avatar fails to live up to hype

Amid all the hype surrounding James Cameron's movie Avatar, critics are complaining there is too much focus on the CGI and not enough on the script.

Players will be equally disappointed with James Cameron's Avatar: The Game, which also does not live up to the hype. It's not bad; it's just not as great as it's been advertised to be.

K11 isn't the only new mall in Tsim Sha Tsui. There's also a vertiginous retail space called iSquare where the Hyatt Regency hotel used to be. Although most of it is still under construction, the UA cinema opened on Wednesday with the premiere of James Cameron's 3-D blockbuster Avatar at 7pm and 9.45pm.
