Seriously, I do want to learn how to lip-synch. I believe it is a very difficult skill to master. If Lollipop's fans really want to blow up my blog, feel free to. But if they genuinely like the group, they should want to see them improve. If they think lip-synching is not a problem, then there is no problem with me, too. There is no need to get so emotional.

For the record

A woman clutches her sick child in the doorway of a ramshackle medical clinic, but her serene expression belies the turmoil within. 'It was raining, but the mother didn't look too depressed ... she was actually desperate,' says local rocker Paul Wong Koon-chung, who took the photograph on a recent humanitarian mission to Bangladesh.

Madman's Work by Paul Wong Koon-chung

Rocker Paul Wong Koon-chung is back with a mini-album that shows there is life after Beyond.

Madman's Work has five new songs, and live recordings of two from Wong's show at the Coliseum earlier this year.

Unlike his previous album, the self-financed, surprisingly mainstream I Exist, the new album sees Wong revisit his rock 'n' roll roots.

And the 42-year-old guitarist will continue that evolution at the Hong Kong Coliseum next month.

Smart lyrics from music stalwart

Former Beyond guitarist Paul Wong Koon-chung has always fiercely defended his musical territory against skin-deep Canto-pop commercialism.

However, his latest album, I Am Existing, is a step backward from his last effort, Play It Loud. This time Wong has produced a rather ordinary sounding album of guitar-driven pop tunes rather than continue to push his musical boundaries.

Wild Day Out: Beyond Beyond Live 03

Until May 5

It isn't easy for a band to survive in Hong Kong. To stay around for two decades certainly seems impossible in today's bubblegum Canto-pop world.
