An exhibition called The Chinese Residences in Hong Kong, at The Peak Galleria, showcases a life-sized cubicle, old furniture, pictures of houses and much more, highlighting the evolution of houses over the past 100 years.

Photo contest aims to improve image of mutts

Forget Marley And Me. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and a group of City University communication students are organising a photo competition as part of their efforts to dignify the image of the local mongrel tong gau. The pictures should focus on 'mongrels and include Hong Kong traditional elements or collective memories'.

Feel the beat at The Peak

For a novel experience at The Peak, head up there next Sunday at 3pm for a one-hour percussion session called the Sunday Family Comfy Concert Series At The Peak Galleria.

The Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation has invited a group of eight young percussionists to perform for the visitors to The Peak.

Banners discarded

I would like, through these columns, to ask the Peak Galleria management to stop their staff throwing rubbish into the countryside.

Early on the morning of July 6, as I returned with my dog past the Galleria there were two men beneath two long ladders with what appeared to be banners that are regularly put on the lamp-posts outside the Galleria.

Fatal Peak fall

Clerk Pau Man-yuk, 30, was killed and her male companion critically injured when they plunged from Level 1 of the Peak Galleria. No identification was found on the man, aged between 30 and 35. The two were found near the bus stop.

Bring back foreign inspector

I WOULD like to ask the Commissioner of Police to tell us why the Peak Police Station has been downgraded to a reporting-only station at a time when: Crime is on the increase in the Peak area. My own staff inform me that two potential intruders were discovered in my own Peak garden on a Sunday some weeks ago.

Traffic has increased dramatically.

Bomb found on the Peak

THE Peak tram was shut down and hundreds of people evacuated yesterday after a live World War II bomb was found on a construction site in the middle of one of the territory's most popular tourist destinations.

The discovery of the bomb on what used to be the site of Victoria Apartments prompted police to shut down the neighbouring Peak Galleria shopping centre.

Peak promises the height of variety

VARIETY and reasonable prices will be offered by Hang Lung's newest shopping centre, The Peak Galleria.

The retail complex, which is due to open at the end of April, is 80 per cent completed and promises to offer shoppers a varied trade-mix. It is located adjacent to the Peak Tram station.
