Academy and comprehensive curriculum sought to nurture talent

A visual arts academy should be set up and more arts classes offered in primary and secondary schools to nurture talented youngsters, the Culture and Heritage Commission suggests.

In its consultation paper released yesterday, the commission says an academy would be crucial to the 'comprehensive and 'coherent' development of visual arts training.

APA sets stage for open day

Thousands of visitors got a taste of the magic of theatre as Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts welcomed the public to its annual open day.

To give visitors a better understanding of the academy's work, all five of its schools - dance, drama, music, technical arts, and film and television - gave performances, demonstrations, workshops and exhibitions throughout the day.

Brass ensemble kicks festivities

The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (APA) is holding an Open Day on Sunday.

The APA will open its doors to guests from 10 am to 4 pm.

All of the academy's schools - Dance, Drama, Music, Technical Arts and Film and Television - will be putting on performances, demonstrations and exhibitions.

APA opens doors to art-lovers

VISITORS flood the Academy for Performing Arts (APA) when it opens itself to the public each year, no doubt for the same reasons - there are behind-the-stage tours that solve the puzzles on stage, and a full plate of entertainment.

This year's 30,000 visitors found no exceptions.
