Peugeot opens third plant in China

Unions declare war over Peugeot's plan to close Paris plant

When US carmakers slashed production capacity in exchange for government rescue four years ago, workers faced up to change. Though unions bargained hard for existing employees, they agreed to factory closures and cuts in wages and benefits for new hires. Thousands of workers accepted redundancy payouts and moved on, without a huge outcry.

Top triathlete returns

Daniel Lee Chi-wo returned to racing prominence when he led the Peugeot team to victory in the men's elite Endurothon Team Challenge at the Hong Kong Sports Institute.

Lee, Asia's number one triathlete, had been absent from the sport lately.
