Contamination of pills tied to mainland plant

Contaminated capsules made by well-known Chinese medicine manufacturer Li Chung Shing Tong resulted from the unauthorised subcontracting of the refining of ingredients to an unregistered factory on the mainland, according to a court document.

'Seven days can rewrite your destiny, make you proud for the rest of your life,' it declares.

However, the model featured in the advertisement admits that it took two weeks for the natural tablets to increase her breast size from a 34 C to a 35 D cup.

Slimming pill alert

More than 100 women have been advised to seek specialist treatment after taking mainland-produced slimming pills found to contain fenfluramine, a drug linked to heart disease and banned in Hong Kong. The Health Department asked people who might have taken the Seven Days Seven Fairy Maidens Forever-Youth Immunity Capsule to come forward.

Pill overdose

A Chinese University student is in hospital after taking pills in the university's Sha Tin quarters. Police said the 25-year-old student consumed several pills of an unknown type when he and his girlfriend, 20, had an argument.
