Boeing 737 crash in Kazan, Russia kills all 50 on board

A Boeing 737 jetliner crashed and burst into flames Sunday night while trying to land at the airport in the Russian city of Kazan, killing all 50 people aboard in the latest in a string of deadly crashes across the country.

Chinese-made Xian MA60 twin turboprop planes were involved in two landing mishaps yesterday.

There were no deaths or serious injuries in either crash.

Lion Air jet crashes into the sea off Bali, but all aboard survive

Passengers last night told of their chaos and terror as an Indonesian airliner missed the runway in Bali, landed in the sea and broke in two.

None of the more than 100 passengers on board the jet, operated by Indonesian airline Lion Air, was killed, but 45 were treated for injuries.

The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) said a Sukhoi Su-27 fighter plane crashed on mudflats in Rongcheng city, Shandong province, during a drill, on Sunday afternoon, according to Xinhua.

No survivors in plane crash in Antarctica

Search helicopters have found the wreckage of a small plane that crashed in Antarctica carrying three Canadians.

Search crews said they were not able to land at the site but that nobody could have survived the crash.

All 27 people on board a Kazakh military jet that crashed while carrying the Central Asian state's top border guard officials have died, the state security service said yesterday.

The victims included the acting head of the Kazakh federal border service Turganbek Stambekov and his wife.

A Myanmar passenger jet packed with foreign tourists crash-landed and burst into flames in a field in eastern Shan state, killing at least two people and injuring 11 others, officials said.

Black smoke was seen billowing from the charred wreckage of the Air Bagan aircraft, which came down on Tuesday near Heho airport – the gateway to the popular tourist destination of Inle Lake.

Human error caused fatal Sukhoi Superjet crash, report says

Indonesian investigators yesterday blamed pilot error for the deadly crash in May of a new Sukhoi Superjet, post-Soviet Russia's first passenger plane, which slammed into a volcano during a promotional flight.

The flight, with a veteran pilot at the controls, was planned as a 40-minute joy ride to showcase the new Russian plane to prospective buyers in Indonesia.

Continental cleared of crime over Concorde crash
