Occupy activists defiant in face of HSBC legal action

Members of Occupy Central, camped in open space beneath HSBC headquarters since last October, remained defiant yesterday in the face of possible legal action to remove them.

TIPS to make plaza shopping painless

Horizon Plaza is not the easiest place to get to. Although many buses operate in Ap Lei Chau, few stop near the building. Take a taxi, or if you plan on buying something, borrow a car.

Get yourself a copy of Dollarsaver magazine. It has a map and directory of most of the complex's major stores.

Cheung Kong (Holdings) has announced its pre-leasing scheme for Beijing Oriental Plaza with a large advertising campaign.

A two-page colour advertisement dubbing Asia's largest private property project as the 'Millennium Masterpiece' has appeared in various mainland newspapers including the Beijing Daily, China Daily, and the Economic Daily.

October date for Beijing plaza

Beijing's US$2 billion Oriental Plaza, funded mainly by the city government and Cheung Kong (Holdings) should be finished by October 1. The plaza, which includes hotels, apartments, offices and shops, will cover about 1.2 million square feet. Beijing has embarked on an ambitious urban renewal programme in the run up to its 50th anniversary of communist rule.

BANK of America Plaza, a commercial complex in Guangzhou expects to launch the sale of its final phase by end of this year.

The 29-storey complex has a total gross area of more than 800,000 square feet, comprising office space, a shopping mall, a podium garden and a multi-level basement car park.

Big contract

FIRST Pacific Davies has won a contract to manage and market what will be the largest shopping arcade in China: Teem Plaza in Guangzhou, part of a 3.5-million-square-feet complex, including offices and a five-star hotel.

Teem Plaza, in the urban district of Tinhe, will offer 1.6 million sq ft of retail space.

Public should boycott mall

I AM disgusted by the news report on ''Shopping centre admits trying to bar mentally handicapped'' (South China Morning Post, March 11).

The company Media Services Public Relations and Communications which represents City One Plaza, adamantly admits that it intends to discriminate against mentally handicapped people visiting the Plaza.
