Police dog killed in fall chasing suspect

A police dog called Rocky was killed when he fell from the 12th floor of a Ho Man Tin block of flats yesterday after chasing a suspect.

The two-year-old German Shepherd was the first police dog to have died on duty, according to Kowloon City District Operations Officer, Chief Inspector Connitta Chau Sin-ping.

A runaway piglet found wandering through Braemar Hill on Wednesday night could face the auctioneer's hammer unless a missing owner arrives to save its bacon. The 30-centimetre piglet spent its first night in captivity at North Point police station in a cage usually reserved for police dogs, feasting on rice, vegetables and water. It was then transferred to kennels.
