Myanmar delays 'drugs-free' target by 5 years

Myanmar has extended by five years its deadline to eliminate drug production within its borders, a senior official said yesterday, as the nation struggles to stem a growing narcotics crisis.

Dance drama to bloom

The Hong Kong Dance Company will take popular mainland television drama Red Poppies to the stage next month.

The story is set in the early 20th century. Maichi, a Tibetan chieftain, has built a fortune on planting poppies and selling opium. He soon raided other tribes and took away their land.

Saturday, November 11, is Poppy Day and Sunday, November 12, is Remembrance Day when we, as a community, will assemble in Central at the Cenotaph for the annual service to remember all those men and women who gave their lives in active service in all conflicts.

As last year, the ceremony is being organised by the Hong Kong Ex-Servicemen's Association.
