It might seem extreme but Indians are so troubled by the spike in sexual violence against women and children that they are considering extreme measures - including banning pornography.

Porn film producers have vowed to challenge a new law requiring actors in adult movies to wear condoms while performing on set in Los Angeles County.

The Free Speech Coalition, the trade group that represents the adult film industry, said mandatory condoms would render porn filmmaking "untenable".

Artist-activist Ai Weiwei says he is being investigated by police over a series of alleged 'pornographic' photographs posted on the internet more than a year ago.
