Stabbing woman may be mentally ill: police

A 64-year-old woman who allegedly stabbed her 71-year-old husband with a meat cleaver in their Sha Tin flat on Monday was suspected to be mentally ill and was receiving psychiatric treatment at Prince of Wales Hospital, police said yesterday.

Man ordered to take psychiatric exam

A man accused of assaulting a policeman in a flat on the Wah Fu Estate in Aberdeen last week has been ordered to undergo an examination by a psychiatrist before Eastern Court decides if he is fit to enter pleas to the charges he faces. Yeung Man-yee, 44, is charged with possessing offensive weapons and with assaulting policeman Cheuk Chun-hong.
