Ta Kwu Ling, the remotest of three proposed towns to be developed in the northeastern New Territories, may become part of a planned rail network in another government attempt to gain public support for the border project.

NOL seeks US rail buyer

Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) is seeking a buyer for the North American rail network that is part of its APL unit, industry sources say.

The Singapore shipping giant last week said it would sell non-core assets to help pay off debt but did not mention the rail network, which could sell for between US$300 million and $600 million.

Rail study eyes growth surge, funding options

Montreal in C$150m strategy

THE Canadian port of Montreal, one of the world's major inland ports, has developed a new strategy, Horizon 2010, to allow it to expand and satisfy the needs of clients.

The port has invest-ed over C$150 million (HK$929.25 million) in the past decade primarily for the expansion of its container terminals and the improvement of its rail network and grain elevators.
