'Smile' team in Shantou

A TEAM of volunteer surgeons and medical staff are heading to Shantou in Guangdong today to perform reconstructive surgery on 200 people. The 50-member team will be operating around the clock for five days, mostly on children with cleft palates and lips. The trip is organised by Operation Smile International, and the $1.5 million cost is being covered by tycoon Li Ka-shing.
