The government has been urged to review its town planning policy after a property consultancy found nearly 40 per cent of plots in Kowloon Tong - primarily zoned for residential use - have been used for educational or commercial purposes.

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) and Land Development Corp (LDC) have converted their redevelopment project in Yau Ma Tei from residential to commercial use in view of the improving office market.

I refer to the report which appeared in Property Post on June 16 headlined, 'Plot-ratio uncertainty clouds sale of Peak residential site', in which it was reported that developers are concerned about the alleged uncertainty over the gross floor area to be allowed in Rural Building Lot 1146, which is to be auctioned on June 29.
