Hill and King make their mark in late flourish

There were important winners for trainer David Hill and Australian jockey Steven King in the final two races yesterday.

Hill produced Irish stayer Supreme Bases (6-1) in superb condition to win the Class One, 1,800-metre eighth event, while bottomweight Fairy King Prawn (4-1) took the nightcap for King and trainer Ricky P.F. Yiu, who had a double on the card.

Trainer's chance to make an early impact

UNASSUMING new boy Ricky P.F. Yiu can land his first winner as a trainer with only his second runner when he saddles up Wonderful in the first event at Sha Tin tonight. Yiu, who has kept a low profile since receiving his coveted licence, has less than 10 horses in his care and is grateful to have those. 'I am just happy that some owners have shown faith in me.
